'Who would be the audience for your media product?'
Even though our film is a Superhuman Sci-fi film it does feature some very mature context, such as drug use, violence and murder so purely based off this I personally think our age range would be 16 - 25 year olds as the context of the play might be too much for a younger audience to handle as its very mature and might be viewed as inappropriate for them. I also think our film would appeal more to a largely male audience because of the action scenes, context and heavily dominated male cast but still appealing to a female audience and audiences of all ethnic backgrounds. Another reason is that 15 - 25 year olds have more disposable income to spend on days out etc. unlike older audience who might need to begin saving for the future or paying for their family.
We created a questionnaire about out first 3 minutes and asked for people's thoughts on it, there were questions about the plot, characters and distributors. We left some space for their own personal response towards the synopsis and what improvements we could add, with these improvements and suggestions we added them to the script and storyboard and kept them in mind once filming had commenced. If the film had of been aimed towards a younger audience then we wouldn't of been able to have the reference to drug use, murder and violence within out film. A staple of Superhero movies are the iconic fight scenes so to pay homage to the Superhero/Superhuman genre we added in a fight scene where the main character gets shot but remains unhurt, this is very similar to Deadpool (2016) which is rated 15 (R rated in American classification) which is why we again chose to make our film a 15.
