Superhuman Sci Fi - Story

The general story that a superhuman movie follows is that a group or person is caught up in an experiment that goes wrong, resulting in them being given 'super powers', special ability's that allow the user to do extraordinary, often impossible things. After the explosion or malfunction is over, the character would normally wake up, immediately finding out they have their new powers, not knowing how to fully control them. At the same time, the main villain of the film will also discover their powers, and begin to make an evil plan to gain something. As the film progress, the main character will begin to grasp how their powers work, saving innocent people, until finally facing their enemy at the end of the film, with a big 'show down'.
This is the plot that is seen throughout many, if not most superhuman films, as it helps to develop the characters more, with different smaller plots woven in-between the main arch of the movie. It also helps to persuade the audience to feel more sympathetic for the characters involved, as they have had to go through hard ship throughout the film, developing them selves in to 'hero's' This is seen in the 2008 film 'Iron Man', which follows billionaire Tony Stark, a weapon dealer who is attacked by terrorists, causing him to build a suit of armour to protect himself, becoming a hero in the processes. This is similar to our film as it follows the idea of the main character being attacked and causing them to become a sort of hero as they learn to use their new powers to help others.
