Superhuman Sci Fi - Setting/Locations

Sci - Fi films are classily set in outer space or the future, revolving around futuristic technologies and the different struggles and challenges of space travel. Most classic Sci - Fi films are set in outer space, as when they were first becoming popular, in the 1950's, space travel was becoming more of a reality to the world, so the ideas of space travel and the gleaming future that were presented was becoming more appealing to the population, as it connoted the image of the future that people were hoping for.
In comparison, our movie will not be set in space, or the future, as it is following a more modern Sci - Fi story, with a more realistic, yet still fictional world. We will be using modern terms and technologies to present our film, while also implying aspects of extra terrestrial involvement. The majority of our film takes place in a inner city park, revolving around the pond area. As the story progresses, the location will move to a house, where the hero will rest. This contrasts with the conventional  Sci - Fi film as it is a more grounded and realistic aspect of the genre, revolving more around the characters and their different motivation, rather than locations and set pieces.
