Our Sci-Fi films delves into the Sci-Fi Superhuman sub-genre which has become increasingly popular with cinema audiences with the production of Superhero and Superhuman films increasing rapidly over the last few years with an already pre-established fan base through the media of Books, Magazines and Comic Books. The reason for its popularity is because audiences like to imagine beyond the normal scope of human thought as well as imagining what it'd be like to be placed within that situation with Superhuman abilities and what they'd do with said abilities which is why it's proven popular year after year with cinema and TV audiences all around the globe and becoming one of the biggest and most popular sub-genres within the Film Industry.
Another Sci-Fi film that's very similar is Next (2007), it doesn't follow the Sci-Fi Superhuman sub-genre our film is as Next is classed as Science-Fiction Action Thriller but it does involve the superhuman ability of being able to see into the future which is also present in our film. Next revolves around a Las Vegas magician, called Cris Johnson (played by Nicolas Cage) who can see into the future but only a few minutes into it due to the restriction of his superhuman ability. Cris has come to the attention of the FBI who begin to pursue him, seeking to use his abilities to prevent a nuclear terrorist attack. The main key element of Next can be related back to our film (Class A Prescription) as both feature the superhuman ability of being able to predict the future and also being aware of what's going to happen as our main protagonist , Kian, is able to look into the future predicting his own death and preventing it from happening.
Memento (2000) shares close similarities to our film Class A Prescription, even though Memento is presented as a neo-noir psychological thriller, the similarities are derived from the plot and the strong similarities of the content of the film. The film revolves around Leonard (Guy Pearce) who's juggling the search for his wife's murderer but has to leave himself messages, clues and notes every day as no new memories can be stored due to his anterograde amnesia (short-term memory loss) as a result of a past trauma, he suffers with short-term memory loss approximately every five minutes making the hunt for his wife's murderer even harder. This is relatable to our film as the main protagonist Kian can not recall how he ended up in the park pond, how he gained his new superhuman abilities and who is to blame for him being within an inch of his life.
