Post-Production Film Questionnaire

Post-Production Film Questionnaire

We asked 10 people at random about our final film (7 using Paper Questionnaires and 3 for our Video Questionnaire) as well as asking them a few more questions about them and their favourite genres etc. On here I'm going to briefly break down the answers into individual sections.

Question 1 - What is your age?

As most participants were asked within college the age range of people wasn't very wide as 100% of answers was 16 - 18 years of age but this worked out very well for us as our film is aimed towards that age group.

Question 2 - What is your gender?

We got answers from both genders for this section, this would give us a wide response to our film as we'd be able to get opinions and improvements from both genders instead of just one.

Question 3 - What is your occupation?

This isn't a necessary question but we thought it would be a good idea because we'd be able to determine the amount of disposables income our participants have.

Question 4 - How often do you watch films?

Again not another necessary question, this is just background research into how often people watch films which would allow us to gauge how often our film might be watched.

Question 5 - How do you usually watch films?

Similar to question 4 this is also just background research but by doing this its allowed us to see which platform of distribution our film would be commonly watched on.

Question 6 - What is your favourite genre?

Having found out our participants favourite genres, this allow us to compare the answers to see if our film's genre would fit into what our participants said.

Question 7 - What did you think of our film?

The response to our film was largely positive with a lot of compliments on our shots, editing (such as the flashback effects and transition shot) as well as the music used within our film, they all believe it worked well with our film but there were a few improvements we could add, a few of our participants mentioned that at points in the film the music was a little bit too loud making it hard to hear the dialogue at times, another point made was that the storyline and genre wasn't really clear within the first three minutes and this was sometime we wanted to do within those three minutes but this wasn't achieved as well as we thought it had which is something we could improve upon.

Question 8 - What genre should our film be?

Class A. Prescription is a superhero sci-fi film and the answers here show that out of 10 people, 3 of them believe our film would fit into the sci-fi genre with what happens within the first three minutes.

Question 9 - What age rating should our film be?

Out of the options we gave, all believed that our film should have an age rating of 15 which goes perfectly with what we've decided as we also believe our film should be a 15 with the reference and use of drugs as well as the violence featured within out film.

Question 10 - What type of music would you expect in our film?

We received a wide range of responses for this question but the main response was that our film should feature gritty, action-packed, fast paced and dramatic music as well as futuristic and sci-fi music to keep with the genre of superhero sci-fi but also because music like that would keep the audience hooked to the film.

Question 11 - Would you watch our film again? If no, then what could be change (add or remove) to make it more appealing?

Our film gained a mostly positive response to this question with 9 out of our 10 participants saying they'd defiantly watch our film as it was interesting and had them hooked, wanting to know what else develops/happens within the film. 1 of our participants said they wouldn't watch it as it didn't really appeal them, that it appealed to more of a niche audience and suggested that we should make it more universally appealing so that it would appeal to a wider audience.
