Jake Barker Movie #1 – Full Summary

Sci – Fi Drama

First 3 Minutes:

The movie starts off with showing the production team who did along with a montage of the following events

In morning modern day England in north Yorkshire, a local couple (called Jarrod and Danni) see a man lying face down in a pond at a public park, and they help carry him out of it and lay him on the grass, but they do not hear a pulse.

Danni decides to do CPR on the man wear he starts coughing up water but is still dazed when he got out of the pond.

The couple decide to take the man to their house where they will help warm him up and give him a cup of coffee to drink when he finally recovers and wakes up

During that time, it keeps cutting to a black screen in order to show the cast of the movie, and when that last scene finishes, the movie of the title is shown.

It then fades from black to show the current events.

The couple introduce themselves to the man, and he says that his name is Kian. Jarrod asks Kian how he ended up in the pond, but Kian says that he has got no memory of what has happened since he went to his friend Andrew’s house that yesterday morning. That will be shown in a flashback.

After finishing his coffee, Kian thanks them for the help and says he will go home. The couple beg him that they will drive him home, but Kian says they have helped him enough and that that his house is not that far.

After a few minutes walking, a montage show that Kian is suffering from a painful headache, and in a futuristic effect, he sees a vision of Jarrod and Danni getting fatally shot by a mugger at the same park he was at.

Kian quickly runs back to the couple’s house but finds it locked, and decides to head to the park where he seems them walking, and warns them of the danger.

They don’t believe him but the mugger turns up, and Kian quickly tackles him onto the ground, the mugger shoots Kian but a close up shot shows that he feels no pain from it and that he is not bleeding from the shot.

The mugger is scared from what has just happened and runs off the way he came, but drops his gun on the ground in the process.

Kian picks up the gun, and after witnessing what has happened, Danni asks him “How did you know this will happen?”, and it close up on Kian’s confused and scared face.

Beginning:

Jarrod and Danni drive Kian home with him saying that he saw a vision of what could happen.

He goes home with Danni giving him their phone number, telling him to call them at any time.

Kian goes to his home and sees it looking like it has been robbed.

Kian sees the mugger from before and quickly pulls the gun out but the mugger claims that he knows what has happened yesterday.

He says his name is Frank and that he remembered Kian’s face and said that he gave him so roofies last night when he went to someone’s house.

Kian asks him where the house is and Frank takes him there.

Kian recognises the house as Andrew’s and he knocks to find it unlocked.

Kian searches it to find Andrew tied in the basement but then gets knocked unconscious.

Middle:

Kian wakes up to find himself tied up with Andrew, in an abandoned hospital where they are on lab tables.

A doctor called Dr Lars Avery says that they are special people. He says that one of them is different and plans to find out what it is.

He ungags Andrew who immediately apologises to Kian saying that it was his fault, and then gets injected to death.

Kian then gets another painful vision, but it shows a group of army men raiding Jarrod and Danni’s house.

Kian manages to break free and knock out Dr Avery before escaping and realising he is close to the couple’s house.

He goes in and warns them and he helps them escape just before they arrive.

He takes them back to his house where                Frank is waiting, and Jarrod recognises him and beats him up.

Kian and Danni break it off and Kian tells them all about Dr Avery’s lab and says that he has done something to him last night.

All 4 break in and Frank recognises the drugs in the lab and tells Kian that he found them and gave it to a boy who Kian recognises as Andrew.

Kian then sees a vision of the building on fire and sees Danni burning and rescues them but Dr Avery holds Jarrod at gun point and tells them to leave, and Dr Avery tells Kian that people will be hunting him, before Jarrod triggers the gun and blasts a fuel tank before the building is on fire.

Kian goes back in to sees if they survived, and finds Dr Avery’s body, but Jarrod’s is missing

Danni questions Kian about his visions and he thinks she is related to what has happened to him.

Frank managed to get security camera footage before the place was on fire and they see Dr Avery testing the drug on Jarrod who manged to escape and before police arrive, and Dr Avery running dropping drugs in the process, which Frank picked up.

Kian suspects that Andrew gave him a drug, and has evolved his DNA.

End:

All 3 hear a SWAT force and they run away but Frank gets shot to death in the process

Kian and Danni run head back to Danni’s house in which Jarrod is there holding a gun to him.

Jarrod reveals that he wasn’t Dr Avery’s victim but apprentice, saying that there are people like him who have extra genes that evolve a person to unlock 100$ of the brain’s potential, but can’t get it to evolve to its full potential before they die. Dr Avery gave him some pills to evolve the DNA quicker, but only managed to unlock 35% before the he saw a vision of the police arriving.

 Jarrod then says that he went with Danni to the pub and saw Andrew slipping a pill into Kian’s bottle and realises he has the pills. He then followed Andrew home and tied him up, only to realise that he doesn’t have the pills and that Kian has them, so he dragged him to the park and strangles him in the process, but doesn’t find the drugs and disposed Kian’s body in the water as he was dead.

Jarrod then planned to find the pills in the park that morning but Danni found the body and when he came back to life because his brain has manged to work the lungs without air, he knew he was one of them. When he drove him off that night, he made sure Danni was asleep and went to Andrew’s home having a vision that he went there and knocked both Kian and Frank out before taking them to Dr Avery. Dr Avery told Andrew about the drugs and evolved DNA, and he feels that it was his fault Kian would die but Dr Avery got confused thinking Andrew had the DNA and instead of the injection removing the DNA, it mutated with it and the body causing a horrible death.

Kian asks where was Frank at the time, and Jarrod says the Dr Avery wanted the drugs back and called Frank to get them back as he saw him giving them away, but Frank got confused thinking Jarrod and Danni had them, and was about to shoot both of them. When seeing that Frank was helping Kian, Jarrod knew that Frank was a liability he made sure Kian could get away from the building so he could burn Frank in the fire, but Dr Avery knew what Jarrod was up to and was going to extract the evolved DNA out of him as revenge, so Jarrod wanted him out of the picture first.

After concluding his story Jarrod demands for the drugs, and Kian reveals that the first drugs had fallen into the pond and gives him the second batch, but Danni takes them off him so Jarrod shoots him, but Danni has no pain and is not bleeding.

Jarrod scans her DNA realising she is a human of the evolved DNA and has managed to unlock rapid cell reproduction, and that she has the same DNA pattern as Kian, realising that they are siblings and why Kian keeps having visions of her.

Kian and Jarrod get into a fight and Jarrod manages to get the drugs and takes them all, but his body couldn’t handle the fast evolution process and painfully dies.

Danni says that their evolved DNA was more of a curse then a gift, as she almost killed him with one of their powers and Kian having a grudge for her, and not wanting Kian to go through the ordeal of doing it to other people or have him hating her more, wiped his memory of knowing her and the DNA with one of her powers that only works on family, but is glad to have him back and that they are reunited. He says it’s alright and they hug it out.

The SWAT team arrive and grab them both to see if they are dangerous or not, with Kian having another painful vision (with no flashback sequence) and says they are going to be fine.
